It was a pleasure designing the original artwork for the Destiny Raid Belts. I crafted the initial twelve vector designs, covering every Destiny Raid from Vault of Glass through Deep Stone Crypt. Afterward, I passed the torch to our Creative Studios' visual designers for future designs.

The final seven belts were expertly manufactured by Wildcat Belts. Six were awarded to the world’s first players, and one was sent to Bungie for display.

To create these designs, I utilized Adobe Illustrator to craft the original vector art and employed advanced layer styles in Adobe Photoshop to produce each gold belt render. I integrated the primary raid icon (skull surrounded by chains and sword) created by Ryan Klaverweide and received art direction from Garrett Morlan.

In Destiny, raids are complex end-game activities that demand the cooperation of six-person fireteams to explore vast areas, solve puzzles, and defeat challenging bosses. These raids are considered pinnacle content and can take several hours, or even multiple attempts, to complete.

Through the Bungie Rewards program, Bungie has instituted a tradition where the first fireteam to complete every encounter and loot the final chest has their victory immortalized with World First raid belts.
